The chemical components of peppermint oil are menthol, menthone, 1, 8-cineole, methyl acetate, methofuran, isomenthone, limonene, b-pinene, a-pinene, germacrene-d, trans-sabinene hydrate and pulegone. Menthol in mint is responsible for the cooling effect of mint.
