The Directors of "Mint Freshness" Project

We, the duo, Yusser Chidiac & Fatima el Zahraa Itani, are the teachers who are following up the students of Grade 10 B in Gebran Andrawos Al-Tweini Public School in their minty I do project.

As for me YUSSER,
- I have started teaching in 1996, I taught all Grades from the 4th Grade to Grades 12 (all sections).
- I have been a Biology coordinator since 2004.
- I have attended many workshops about the Biology New Curriculum and the Official Exam Assessments delivered by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
- I am always ready to engage in extracurricular activities dealing with educational or environmental themes with other teachers, friends or students.
- I am an active volunteer in a number of NGOs.

As for me FATIMA Al-ZAHRAA,
- I'm a pure chemistry teacher for the secondary classes since 2008.
- I've been teaching since 2005.
- I taught classes from Grade 3 till 12 (all the sections except Grade 11- Humanities).
- I studied biochemistry in the Lebanese University; this helped me to teach physics, biology and chemistry for the intermediate classes.
- I participated in several scientific activities (Science Fairs) and attended several workshops ( One of them is SMEC).
- The last prize we (I and Fatima) got in the extracurricular activity was in Moubarat el 3ouloum 2010. We worked with 8 students to deliver 2 science projects, one of which won the 3rd place in the Green Economy Section.

- The “I DO project” was really a great fruitful experience. It opened our minds for the importance of contributing a large number of students in a well organized science project. Making a video and a wiki for the same project allowed us to think about the attractive ways to present a project or even a lesson. Now, may be we can make a wiki for Chemistry and for Biology so that students can study and practice the lessons more effectively and without getting bored. We can prepare more effectively a power point presentation or movie too because now we have realized the importance of planning for our goals, especially with respect to writing the target messages of any presentation.
- At last, we would to thank every member of the “ I DO” team, and we would like everyone to know that “ I DO” project is really making a difference not only at the level of the teaching-learning method, but also at the level of HOW students think about and look into SCIENCE.
